Ocean by ELK64 Ocean by ELK64
Not 100% finished ! I'll fix some details tonight !

EDIT : here, I fiexed the detail I had to ! (over 3 hours of work I think, I was so sleepy x__x !)

I am really happy with the result !! it's another drawing about atmospheric research. The goal was to do an aquatic feeling (playing with the blue, size of stuff and distance...). It's all done on photoshop, and I learned a lot with this. It was also a good occasion to draw animals I usually don't ! The coloring was really interesting, and I could try new technic... mixing different one I have.

I'm really happy because I can see improv of myself with this drawing *v* !!

and please,

This is beautiful and the mermaid is spectacular!
Just two little things that set me off slightly:
-Mermaid's breasts are at a slightly awkward angle. Her left should be farther to her left and with her chest open her right shouldn't be showing any squeeze.
-The orca looks rather brick-like, it should be a little more streamlined, as I can't imagine it straightening out with such a short back.
:)
Good work all up though

i really want to write a Critique for this one but i'm afraid 100 words are simply not enough
so, here's a list of things i want the artist to know:

>i'd really appreciate it if you could do more effect to the bubbles
>also, the outlines make the painting look "bare" & i think the inking is to be blamed
>make them "come to life" like how you made the mermaid come to life with her "splendor"
>said "splendor" of the mermaid was cut off at the end of her tail which seemingly made it look dull
>the mermaid looks a little out of place & i think THAT is the beauty of the painting itself
>her aura is also different which made her really stand out more than the others since she's not the only one with lively colors
>this really looks unfurbished & unpolished but so far it looks magnificent

>>>overall: a very lovely "under-the-sea" feel refreshing to the eyes<<<

i've read your note above and i want to know if you have already edited this because i know you can really improve this artwork
since the layout is really great i could see so much effort
when polished this can be a real eye-turner

waves & sea cucumbers,
~len
